The Falcons are actively conducting second-round interviews for their head coaching position, and former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is currently undergoing an in-person second interview at the Falcons’ facility, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.
Vrabel, who earned the Coach of the Year title in 2021, served as the head coach for the Tennessee Titans for six seasons, accumulating a record of 54-45. While achieving an AFC Championship game appearance in 2019, the team faced early exits in the postseason in 2020 and 2021.
However, the Titans’ performance declined, finishing 7-10 in 2022 and 6-11 in 2023. Despite recent challenges, Vrabel remains a strong candidate in the Falcons’ coaching search.
The Falcons have been actively pursuing potential candidates, including Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, who underwent an interview on Wednesday. Other candidates, such as Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik and University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, have second interviews scheduled, with Harbaugh reportedly nearing a deal with the Chargers. This situation may impact his availability for a second interview with the Falcons.
