Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 164 pounds, Williams, a Saraland, Alabama native, is also recognized as the second-ranked receiver in the country, trailing only Jeremiah Smith of Ohio State.
Williams had initially decommitted from Alabama shortly after the unexpected retirement announcement of former head coach Nick Saban. The player revealed to ESPN that Saban’s retirement took him by surprise, and he made the decision to decommit only an hour after confirming the news with Tide coaches. As Williams had not signed a letter of intent, he explored other options, drawing interest from Texas A&M, LSU, Texas, and Auburn, according to Rivals.
With Alabama’s coaching change, as Kalen DeBoer stepped in for Saban, securing Williams’ recommitment is considered a significant victory for the new head coach.
